Center for Business and Brand Development
The Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (Vietnam Union of Associations) was established under Decision No. 121 BT dated July 29, 1983 of the Council of Ministers (now the Government) of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Up to now, over 38 years of establishment and development, the Vietnam Union of Associations has become a powerful socio-political organization led by the Communist Party of Vietnam, under the direct direction of the Secretariat, with a system of system from the Central to 63 provinces and cities directly under the Central Government with more than 3.7 million members.
Business and Brand Development Center (abbreviated as BEC) is a central scientific non-business unit operating nationwide directly under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA approved by the Prime Minister). Charter under Decision No: 1795/QD-TTg dated October 21, 2015), BEC Center was established under Decision No: 111/QD-LHHVN dated February 6, 2020 of the Presidium of the Union Central Council Vietnam Association of Science and Technology Associations.
The Center was granted the Certificate of Science and Technology operation registration by the Minister of Science and Technology: A-2199 on February 27, 2020. The Center is a scientific organization specializing in strategic research, policy advice on macroeconomics, market research to support business development, assessment of business credit, trade promotion and invest, connect businesses, protect intellectual property rights for businesses; survey and assessment of brands, trademarks and markets; contribute to the socio-economic development of the country and international economic integration.
The Chairman of the Scientific Council of the center is Dr. Cao Sy Kiem, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, former Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission, former Secretary of Thai Binh Province.
Vietnam currently has about 810,000 enterprises, aiming to have 1.3 - 1.5 million enterprises by 2025, of which there are 15-20 private enterprises with capitalization of over 1 billion USD. Vietnam has joined many new generation free trade agreements (FTAs) in the region and the world, creating a huge demand for trade connectivity, investment cooperation, and experience exchange. The center functions as an effective bridge organization to support and develop domestic and foreign businesses.
